Trout fishing opens today.

1th of may 2017 While the rest of Iceland opening up for the trout fishing the 1th of april every year, we have decided to wait with the opening of the West Ranga until the 1th of may this year, so today we have had the first anglers on the river, which were not in the best conditions due heavy rain and stormy winds the last days, but the anglers managed anyway to catch som seatrout/brown trouts.

Officially they were not suppose to start before tomorrow, but Bjarki one of our skilled guides, took the anglers out fishing on their arrival day just to straighten out their leaders and lines before the fishing starts tomorrow, they instantly caught 2 trouts with the biggest on 75 cm and lost 2 more, they were due to the strong wind forced to fish places were we normally dont take people trout fishing, so it looks very promising for the 3 next days, I can guarantee that we have some very excited anglers in the lodge at the moment.
